I will fear no evil for thou art with me

LIFE IS LIFE NO MATTER HOW IT'S WRITTEN

    POETRY

Poetry is a way of giving a written description of what one sees and experiences in life in the form of stanzas.  It is also a written interpretation of life for him or her; and can be seen as a written dialog of the way one views things around them.

Many poets choose to write only about the beauty of the world such as singing birds, blossoming flowers, and undying blissful love.  I too have seen a lot of beauty in my life.  I too have experienced and enjoyed the blissful moments and hours of affectionate love; but… since I have also seen, witnessed, experienced, and came face to face with the terrible and ugly realities of life, It would be an injustice to myself and to my readers, not to share it all with them.

There are great lessons that can be learned from poetry, if we reach deeply with our minds, into each word, each phrase, each sentence, and each stanza, and capture the invaluable message that so many poems offer to us.

Life consists of many things.  Listed below are just a few of them that can be found in the three volumes of poetry books listed below.

POEMS OF LIFE, VOLUME 1

A COLLECTION OF POEMS ABOUT THE REALITIES OF EVERY DAY LIFE

THE LITTLE BLUE BIRD

Look at that little blue bird,

Not a care in the world.

No bills to pay,

No groceries to buy,

Just look at him play.

Look at that little blue bird,

Not a care in the world.

No worries,

No fears,

Just look at him play.

Look at that little blue bird,

A life filled with song,

Singing praises to Jesus,

All the day long.

Just look at that little blue bird,

How much more am I than he.

And if Jesus takes care of it,

I know He will take care of me.

Just look at that little blue bird,

Singing high up in the tree,

With not a care in the world,

Singing praises... just like me.

POEMS OF LIFE, VOLUME 2

A COLLECTION OF HORROR POEMS, SKITS, AND A SHORT PLAY

THE DARK

It’s dark in here

And that’s not good!

For there’s no good

In the dark!

Light is where I want to be,

Where I need to be,

Where I must be,

Because no evil can remain in the light!

It’s creepy in the dark!

It’s sneaky in the dark!

There’s no good in the dark!

And it’s dark in here!

You can’t see in the dark.

Total darkness, without a speck of light!

Watch your step, you just might fall!

Tripping over things in the dark!

There’s pain in the dark!

Oh so much pain indeed!

But I got to get up from here, somehow,

And feel the warmth of the light!

I’m scared in the dark!

And likewise I should be!

Demonic things lurks

And hovers in the dark!

I got to get up,

I got to get up from here!

Open up the blinds,

And let the light shine in!

Oh please, get me out of this darkness!

And take me into the light!

The devil hides in the dark.

And Jesus stands boldly in the light!

There, now, that’s oh so much better.

The blinds are opened wide,

And warm bright rays of sunshine

Have thrown the darkness into the abyss.

THE VULTURE

Thank you Lord,

I'm finally on my way home from work!

It's been a very long day,

Every inch of my body hurts!

There’s a lot of traffic on the road today.

I guess they’re going home too.

One more day before the weekend,

One more day and this workweek is through!

What the heck is that

In the middle of the road up ahead?

Something big and black,

Looks like it’s eating something that’s dead!

Oh Jesus, it’s a big black vulture!

No not one, my God there’s two!

You stupid things get out of the road!

Can’t you see this big van barreling down on you?

Oh well, let me blow my horn,

They’ll hear it and fly away.

Honk!  Honk!  Honk!  Honk!

My God, are they really going to stay!

I can’t stop!  Too many cars behind me!

Can’t move over, there’s a car in the other lane!

Jesus I’m going to hit them!  I can’t stop!

Why they must be totally insane!

Oh no, now they finally see me!

They’re trying to fly but it’s too late!

Crash!  Bump!  Bang!  Bam!

I flinched when I saw my window break!

My rearview mirror flew into the seat,

Oh God, I don’t dare to stop!

I mean, at least I’m still alive,

And I didn’t hear my tires pop!

I finally got home and parked the car,

Got my bags and prepared to get out of the van.

What was that?  What did I hear?

I froze; trembling fingers and shaking hands!

I’ll call my son and tell him to come down here.

Come down and check the top of the car.

After all he’s just up stairs.

It’s not like he has to come that far!

Oh well, he’ll just have a thousands questions to ask,

While running around the van starring at me.

Oh forget it!  I’ve got to get out of this car.

But… when I get out, what am I going to see?

Is that big black vulture still lying up there,

Just waiting to drop down on my head?

Alright enough!  I’m going to get out and walk inside.

…Well, maybe I’ll run instead!

The End

THE VULTURE'S RESPONSE

Hey wait a minute!

I don’t know why you’re so upset with me!

You know you can’t drive that well,

And you can hardly even see!

So get off my case and go have some cake,

And forget about what happened to you!

Its history, it’s over, get on with your life,

Anyway, ain’t nothing else you can do.
